These Guidelines are to Help you Stay Safe Whenever you are Online

NEVER:

  • Agree to meet someone you only know from the internet
  • Give away personal information like where you live, your school, your full name, your house phone / mobile phone number, your email address.
  • Open an email attachment if you don't know who its from
  • Register for something without your parent's permission
  • Add someone you don't know in real life to your Friends List in an Instant Messenger like MSN or Bebo

ALWAYS:

  • Tell an adult if something on the internet makes you feel upset or uncomfortable
  • Tell an adult if someone asks for your personal information
  • Use privacy settings on Social Networking sites

THE REPORT ABUSE BUTTON

On most Social Networking sites or Instant Messengers there is a Report Abuse button. It looks like this:

So if somebody ever does  something like asking for your personal information or asking you to send them pictures of yourself or anything else that makes you feel uncomfortable, click the Report Abuse button to get help.
